Family Bible records are among the most prized records sought by genealogists. They often link three to five generations. Here are records from a Bacon family Bible.

These Bible records were, about 1935, copied by William Lincoln Palmer of Cambridge, MA, from a Bible formerly owned by Eben F. Bacon of Waterville, ME. They form a good base for family research.

The Faunce Family

Eben F. Bacon, born Sept. 22, l 796, and wife Jane Faunce, born Aug. 11, 1807, were married Oct. 12, 1828. Jane was the daughter of Asa and Miriam (Burrill) Faunce. Her siblings were Angeline (b. Jan. 17, 1809), Emily (b. March 31, 1811), Asa (b. March 12, 1813), Daniel (b. April 22, 1817), William (b. Aug. 22, 1822) and George (b. Aug. 11, 1824).

Angeline Faunce married Isaac W. Wheeler Nov. 19, 1831. Their children were Helen, Henry and Maria Angeline (b. Oct., 1855).

Asa Faunce married Sarah A. Haraden Oct. 8, 1838. Children: Abbie Haraden (b. Oct. 22, 1839), William Asa (b. Dec. 20, 1843) and Mary (b. Nov. 4, 1853).

Daniel Faunce married Ann White May 10, 1841. Children: two boys that died in infancy and twins Ella and Alice (b. Nov. 5, 1853). (continued below)

George Faunce and wife, Abbie _(_?)_ had children Emily Crocker ( b. June, 1853), George (b. Nov., 1859) and Charles Mayhew (b. Feb. 7, 1861).

The Bacon Family

Eben and Jane (Faunce) Bacon had these children: Caroline Frances Bacon (b. Jan. 7, 1830), Mary Angeline Bacon (b. March 28, 1831), Emily Jane Bacon (b. Nov. 14, 1832), Eveline Maria Bacon (b. Jan. 7, 1835) and Charles Francis Bacon (b. July 11, 1836).

Emily Jane Bacon married Thomas Barnes Buck Apr. 13, 1857. Children: Mary Elizabeth (b. Jan. 23, 1858), George Faunce (b. March 4, 1863) and Emily Jane (b. Oct. 31, 1865).

The Palmer Family

Caroline Frances Bacon married James M. Palmer Dec 2, 1853. Children: Charles James (b. Nov. 4, 1854), Edward Francis (b. Oct. 15, 1857), Carrie Emma (b. Feb. 28, 1861), George Monroe (b. May 31, 1863), Willie Lincoln (b. Sept. 19, 1868), and Fred Tobey (b. May 20, 1871).

Charles J. Palmer (b. 1854 to James and Caroline Palmer) married Nellie M. Watson Jan, 19, 1881). Children: Helen Elizabeth (b. Jan. 23, 1882), Edward James Barnes Palmer (b. Oct. 3, 1886) and Annie Gertrude (b. Apr. 8, 1893.

William Lincoln Palmer (born 1868 to James and Caroline Palmer) married Jennie C. Geisler April 14, 1892. Children: Caroline Jennie (b. Nov. 22, 1894), Marion Prescott (b. Sept. 29, 1897) and William Lincoln Jr. (July 7, 1909).

Carrie E. Palmer married C. Graham Gardner July 17, 1894. Children: Charles Graham (b. May 8, 1895), Ralph Graham (b. Jan. 15, 1900) and Emily Beatrice (March 6, 1903).

Marriage Records

George Monroe Palmer married Annie W. Brown Sept. 27, 1893. Fred Tobey Palmer wed Mary Primmer May 31, 1900. William Lincoln Palmer married Frances H. Johnson June 19, 1922 in Boston. Emily Faunce married Samuel Holden Oct. 12, 1828. Emily Faunce married Jacob M. Crooker in March of 1834

Death Records

Jane (Faunce) Bacon died Jan. 8, 1882, Caroline Frances Palmer died Oct. 1, 1899, Charles Bacon died April 6, 1913, Emily Jane Buck died Aug. 5, 1876, Mary A. Bacon died Dec. 29, 1917, Helen, wife of C. J. Palmer, died March 23, 1882, Alice, wife of George F. Buck, died June 6, 1895;,Thomas, their son, died June 10, _(?)_, age 18 days. Jennie C. Palmer died April 1, 1919, Edward Francis Palmer died March 23, 1862, Asa Faunce died Dec. 10, 1824, age 48, Mrs. Miriam Faunce died Oct. 16, 1828, age 41, Samuel Holden died in Feb., 1833, Eben F. Bacon died Oct. 23, 1841, age 45, and Isaac W. Wheeler died in Aug., 1852, age 43
