ELIHU GOODMAN, who served at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Lower Smead Cemetery

HULL NIMS, born 1755. Served in Capt. Timothy Childs' Co., Col. David Jones' Regt., 1777, and in Capt. John Wells' Co. He was present at the capture of Gen. Burgoyne; had 10 children and died June 10, 1842.

Green River Cemetery

CALVIN MUNN, enlisted in 1777 at age 15 and served through the war. He was at the sur­render of General Burgoyne, in General Sullivan's Rhode Island Expedition, and also with General Lafayette in Virginia. Later, he served as drill sergeant in the 4th Mas­sachusetts Continental Line, credited to the town of Munson.

High Street Cemetery

BENJAMIN HASTINGS, born 1728, was a French & Indian War Lieut. in 1755 & Capt., 1759. He was chosen Lieut., 3rd Co., 5th Hampshire Co. Regt., 1776, served in the 1777 Burgoyne campaign, was at New London, CT in 1779 and resigned in 1780 on account of his infirm­ities. He had 10 children; died Jan. 31, 1806.

URIAH MARTINDALE served under Capt. Timothy Childs in Col. David Field's Regt. at Bennington, VT, 1777.

CAPT. ISAAC NEWTON came from Durham, CT. Served as a private in Capt. Timothy Childs' Co., Col. David Jones' Regt., 1777; also captain of 7th Co., detached from 5th Regt

MOSES ANDREWS--Gravestone states he was a soldier; no other record found.

CAPT. CALEB CLAPP--Stone says he was a Revolutionary War soldier; no other record found.

DANIEL WELLS served in Capt. Agrippa Wells’ Co., Col. Samuel Williams’ Regt., 1775; in 1777 was in Capt. Timothy Childs’ Co., Col. David Field’s Regt., and in Capt. Wells’ Co., Col. Porter’s Regt., after the evacuation of Ticonderoga.

Log Plain or Sage Cemetery

JOSEPH ATHERTON, born Apr. 28, 1758. Served in Capt. Samuel Taylor's Co., Col. Nicholas Dyke's Regt., both in 1776 & 1778; in Capt. John Wells' Co., Col. Timothy Robinson's Regt., 1776-77; in Capt. Wells' Co., Col. David Wells' Hampshire Co. Regt., 1777; also in Capt. Isaac Newton's Co. He had 7 children.

OLIVER ATHERTON (father of Joseph, above), born 1738. He was a Sgt. in Capt. Agrippa Wells' Co., Col. Samuel Williams' Regt., on the 1775 Concord & Lexington alarm. He was also in Capt. Wells' Co., Col. Whitcomb's Regt., and 2nd Lt., 10th Co., of Lt. Col. Wells' 5th Hampshire Co. Regt. Oliver is on list of Massachusetts Militia officers commissioned Aug. 14, 1780. He had 12 children; died Sept. 29, 1820.

CAPT. JOHN CLARK, whose gravestone calls him “A Patriot of the Revolution.”

RICHARD JOHNSON came from Old Haddam, CT, held a lieutenant's commission and helped build the first meetinghouse in Greenfield. He died in 1811.

SAMUEL PICKETT, whose name appears on the roll of Revolutionary War pensioners as still living in 1836. He died Mar. 2, 1841at age 81.

Cemetery Near Pumping Station

JOB GRAVES, born Dec. 26, 1756. His name is on the roll of Revolutionary War pensioners living in 1836. He died Jan. 22, 1845 at age 88.

Riverside Cemetery (at Gill, MA)

GEORGE LOVELAND, whose name appears on a list of men who enlisted for three years from Greenfield, MA.

REUBEN SHATTUCK served in Capt. Agrippa Wells’ Co. of Col. Samuel Williams’ regiment for the Lexington Alarm; he was also in Capt. Wells’ Co., 23rd Regiment of Foot Soldiers, under Col. Asa Whitcomb. He resided at Bernardston at the time of his service.
