I have alway heard and researched this matter in books and the internet and discovered that the hate between the Irish and Italian,(Boston-Irish and New York-Italian Brooklyn)and both side being into boxing so much during the turn of last century led to many of the opposite races being married and if you are half Italian and Half Irish then you are Black Irish. I seen this written hundreds of times in Newspapers,books,internets etc...
